What are NOC and NPC
National Olympic Committee
 

National Olympic Committee (NOC) is a national organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for organizing the country's participation in the Olympic Games. The mission of NOCs is to develop, promote and protect the Olympic Movement in the respective countries in accordance with the Olympic Charter. NOCs are committed to the development of athletes, selecting and sending of teams for participation in the Olympic Games.

In the Beijing 2008 Olympic Equestrian Events, a total of about 200 athletes from 42 NOCs participate. For details please click here.

  National Paralympic Committee
 

National Paralympic Committee (NPC) is a national organization recognized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for organizing the country's participation in the Paralympic Games. The mission of NPCs is to develop and protect the Olympic Movement for athletes with a disability in the respective countries in accordance with the Olympic Charter. NPCs are also responsible for the entrance, management and preparation for participation in the Paralympic Games.

In the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Equestrian Events, a total of 73 riders from 28 NPCs will participate. For details please click here.
