A free double-decker shuttle bus service will be provided between designated stations on the MTR East Rail Line and the two competition venues in Sha Tin and Beas River for spectators holding valid entry tickets for the Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events.
The MTR station shuttle bus pick-up / drop-off points for the competition venues are:
University Station
Hong Kong Olympic Equestrian Venue (Sha Tin)
Fanling Station
Hong Kong Olympic Equestrian Venue (Beas River)
The shuttle bus service will operate every 3 -10 minutes from two hours before the start of the competition until about 1.5 hours after the competition ends. The spectator screening point for entering the competition venues is a short walk away from the shuttle drop-off area outside of the venue.
Traveling time from the shuttle bus pick-up points to the competition venues is about 5-10 minutes.
Spectators are advised to arrive at the shuttle bus boarding area early, preferably two hours before the start of the competition to avoid congestion, and allow time for ticket inspection and security screening
MTR
The MTR is a safe, reliable and efficient railway system with train reliability unaffected by road traffic conditions. The MTR network consists of nine lines serving Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories.
You can either buy a single journey ticket at the entry station or travel using a stored value Octopus Card. Ticket machines and Customer Service Centres are located at all stations.
Spectators are advised to take the MTR East Rail Line to University Station for events in Sha Tin and to Fanling Station for the event in Beas River. For passengers who are traveling from stations on other lines, the two main interchange stations on the East Rail Line are – Kowloon Tong (from the Kwun Tong Line) East Tsim Sha Tsui (from the Tsuen Wan Line)
The other major interchange stations for these two Lines are – Central (from the Tung Chung Line to the Tsuen Wan Line) Admiralty (from the Island Line to the Tsuen Wan Line) Prince Edward (between the Tsuen Wan Line and the Kwun Tong Line) Mong Kok (between the Tsuen Wan Line and the Kwun Tong Line)
To get from any location to University or Fanling stations on the East Rail Line, follow this flow chart –
Take the nearest MTR train
Change to the Tsuen Wan or Kwun Tong Line at an interchange station
Change to the East Rail Line at East Tsim Sha Tsui or Kowloon Tong stations
Exit at University Station (for Sha Tin venue) or Fanling Station (for Beas River venue)

University Station shuttle bus pick-up / drop-off point
The shuttle bus pick-up/drop-off point at University Station is located immediately outside of the station. There are 13 bus bays, allowing the simultaneous boarding of 13 double-decker buses. Directional signs will lead passengers from inside the station to the shuttle bus pick-up area. Transport Ambassadors will provide assistance to anyone in need.
Fanling Station shuttle bus pick-up/drop-off point
There are two shuttle bus pick-up/drop-off points at Fanling Station: Pak Wo Road; and the other at Fanling Station Road.
Walking from Sheung Shui Station to Beas River Competition Venue
Spectators can choose to walk from Sheung Shui Station to the Beas River venue in about 20 minutes. Directional signage will guide you to the venue. The walking route is shown below:
Taxi/ Private car
There will be NO taxi drop-off / pick-up point at either of the two competition venues. All adjacent roads to the venue will be designated “Prohibited Zones” on the days of the competitions and only emergency vehicles or vehicles with permits will be allowed access.
If spectators wish to come by taxi or private car, you are advised to tell the driver to drop you off at the nearest station on MTR East Rail Line, then take the train to either University Station (for events at Sha Tin), or Fanling Station (for event at Beas River).
Another option is to drop you off at Tak Hau Street for the Sha Tin venue. The walk to the Sha Tin venue spectator entrance takes about 15 minutes (you will walk past the Sha Tin Sports Ground and along the Shing Mun River) and you will be directed by signage along the way. Private car drivers have to make their own parking arrangements.

The official shuttle buses taking spectators from designated MTR stations to the competition venues are all low-floor wheelchair accessible.
The MTR rail network︰
All MTR stations are accessible with lifts, ramps, and wide ticket gates, etc.
Wheelchair users are advised to contact the stations they will travel before travelling, so that staff can be available to assist if required. Individual station's contact numbers are available from the MTR website or through the MTR hotline 2881-8888.
Coaches with wheelchair facilities ︰
Advance booking of coaches with wheelchair facilities is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The coaches provide point-to-point service between your hotel / residence and the respective competition venue.
In addition, barrier-free coaches will be available at all shuttle bus pick-up / drop-off points. Transport Ambassadors will provide assistance to anyone in need.
